I hold a master’s degree in Special Education and have several years of experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including students with IEPs, ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, and reading challenges. In addition to my work as an education specialist in inclusive elementary school settings, I bring over five years of experience in applied behavior analysis, supporting early learners and elementary-age students in both structured learning and naturalistic settings. My background also includes working closely with students who are emergent bilinguals and students who benefit from explicit, structured instruction. As a veteran educator, I bring professionalism, consistency, and a strong sense of responsibility to my work with students and families.

My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and highly individualized. Drawing from both special education and ABA principles, I focus on understanding why a student may be struggling and then adjusting instruction to support success. I use clear modeling, guided practice, positive reinforcement, and evidence-based strategies to help students build skills while maintaining their dignity and motivation. I am especially skilled in breaking down complex tasks, supporting executive functioning, and helping students develop strategies they can use independently in school.

I have worked with students ranging from early elementary through upper elementary age in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one settings. I value collaboration with families and believe clear communication is essential so parents understand what we are working on and how it connects to their child’s goals. My goal as a tutor is not only to support academic growth, but also to help students feel confident, capable, and successful as learners.
