My name is Mehmed! I graduated with a bachelors degree in electrical engineering and a masters degree in telecommunications engineering in Germany. I've held several tutoring jobs across the years. As someone in the tech industry, my approach focuses on learning how to solve complicated problems, and giving specific guidance when necessary. I believe we learn by doing, not by watching, so I aim to make my students think of possible approaches, even if they don't yet feel like a master of their subject. Longer term, I want my students to learn how to think, how to approach problems, and how to collaborate with others.
In my senior year of my bachelors, I took on a tutoring job for Colorado State's Academic Advancement Center. The AAC is an institution for low income, first generation, and disabled university students to receive academic help. I found this experience tremendously rewarding, as many of these students were, educationally-speaking, trailblazers for their families and communities. In this role, I saw 1-3 students at a time, every week, for a specific course. It was a great honor to watch these young men and women figure out how to succeed in university, and to be a part of their journey.
I also held a drop-in tutoring role for the college of engineering at Colorado State University. This role involved potentially seeing an entirely different set of students and subjects each week. This meant seeing many stressed students with exams coming up.
Today, I am a freelancer, mostly taking on high school students. I have about 2 years of experience tutoring a mix of high school and university students. Subjects I have taught frequently include: calculus/statistics, physics, electrical engineering, and programming.
All around, I love to see my students improve and ultimately succeed! I am looking to take on high school students as well as university students in subjects where I am qualified. If you are at all interested, feel free to contact me with questions or a request for a lesson!
