I am a student at the University of California, Santa Barbara, pursuing a B.S. in Statistical and Data Science and a B.S. in Psychological and Brain Sciences, with a 4.0 GPA. My academic training includes advanced coursework in multivariable calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, and intermediate Python, along with a strong foundation across STEM and social science disciplines. I also earned a 5 on AP exams in Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Computer Science A, and Chinese, demonstrating both breadth and depth across quantitative, scientific, and language-based subjects.
My tutoring experience spans over four years across both academic and language instruction. As co-president of the Infinity Club, I tutored elementary school students in math, focusing on building foundational skills in arithmetic, fractions, and early algebra through step-by-step explanations and guided practice. I also worked in a Mandarin language exchange program where I tutored a Taiwanese student in English for four years, helping develop grammar, reading comprehension, and conversational fluency while adapting explanations across language barriers.
In addition to tutoring, I have research and leadership experience that strengthens my teaching approach. As a research assistant and lab trainee in neuroscience and visual cognition labs at UCSB, I regularly simplify complex scientific concepts and analyze data. Across all roles, I prioritize patient, adaptive teaching, encouraging students to explain their reasoning, ask questions, and build independent problem-solving skills and confidence over time.
