I hold a PhD in Biochemistry and have over 20 years of experience in both academic research and science education. After earning my BSc (Hons) and PhD in Biochemistry, I completed postdoctoral research at Yale University and Stanford University, publishing several papers in top-tier scientific journals. My deep foundation in the sciences now supports my teaching practice, where I specialize in biology, marine biology, anatomy & physiology, chemistry, and environmental science. I have also taught physics, conceptual physics, and geometry.
For the past year, I have taught at a prominent independent school in California that offers one-on-one instruction, where I work with both middle and high school students. Prior to this, I tutored privately for over 15 years, supporting students from middle school through college. I’ve taught students with a wide range of learning needs, including those with ADHD, ASD, and anxiety, and I’ve received training in methods that meet these students’ needs. My students frequently describe me as calm and patient, and they appreciate my ability to explain complex topics in a way that feels clear and manageable. I was honored to receive a teaching award in my first year at Fusion Academy, a reflection of the relationships I build and the progress my students make.
