Hi! I’m Alexia, a rising junior at Tufts University on the pre-med track, majoring in Biopsychology. With a strong academic foundation and firsthand experience navigating rigorous science courses, I’m passionate about helping students succeed in General Chemistry—a subject I know can be challenging without the right support.

My tutoring approach focuses on clarity, strategy, and building confidence. I believe in the power of active learning—mastering a concept through consistent practice and exposure to a variety of problems. During sessions, I guide students through not just the “how” but also the “why,” helping them develop critical thinking skills and deeper conceptual understanding. Whether we’re reviewing class material, working through problem sets, or prepping for an exam, I aim to create a supportive and structured learning environment tailored to each student’s goals.

Over the past two years, I’ve worked with both high school and college students in General Chemistry through a combination of private in-person sessions and virtual tutoring. My experience includes supporting peers at Tufts in STEM coursework, tutoring local high school students one-on-one, and helping students prepare for class tests and standardized exams. I’ve worked with students across different levels and learning styles, and I always strive to adapt my teaching to meet each learner’s unique needs. As a pre-med student and varsity athlete, I understand the importance of efficient, goal-oriented learning—and I’m committed to helping students feel confident and capable in chemistry.

Chemistry

I’m a pre-med student at Tufts University, currently excelling in Organic Chemistry, with a strong foundation in General Chemistry (CHEM 1 & 2 equivalents). I’ve consistently maintained a top GPA and have been named to the Dean’s List and Honor Roll throughout my academic career. My tutoring style is supportive, clear, and tailored to each student. I focus on helping students grasp core concepts, solve problems confidently, and prepare effectively for exams. In addition to my academic background, I’ve gained real-world exposure to the application of chemistry in medicine through competitive internships: UCSF Clinical Internship (San Francisco, CA): I shadowed physicians and researchers across departments, gaining insight into pharmacological treatments, molecular diagnostics, and clinical decision-making—especially in contexts where chemistry and biochemistry are directly involved in patient care. HYGEIA Hospital Surgical Internship (Athens, Greece): I observed urologic, orthopedic, and reconstructive surgeries, and contributed to clinical research on Merkel Cell Carcinoma and Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis. These experiences deepened my understanding of applied biochemistry, tissue interactions, and sterile technique. I also completed an online neuroscience program through Stanford University, exploring topics such as neurochemistry and molecular biology of the brain, which further expanded my scientific knowledge base. With this combination of strong academic performance, real clinical experience, and interdisciplinary research, I’m confident in my ability to help students succeed in chemistry at any level.
Greek

Greek

I am proficient in Greek and demonstrated advanced proficiency by passing the University of Pennsylvania Language Proficiency Test, which allowed me to test out of all language requirements at Tufts University. This exam is a formal proficiency assessment that evaluates reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills at a high academic level. I use Greek regularly in both conversational and academic contexts and am comfortable supporting students with speaking, comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary development. I tailor instruction to each student’s level and goals, whether they are learning Greek for school, travel, or personal enrichment.
