Introduction:
Hello! I’m Vikas, and I bring a unique blend of analytical skills and teaching experience to my prealgebra tutoring sessions. With a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and an MBA (gold medalist), I have a solid foundation in problem-solving and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. With years of working as an engineer and product manager at Google and other stellar organisations, I've honed my critical thinking and communication skills. My goal is to make prealgebra accessible and enjoyable for students by connecting concepts to real-world applications.
My special superpower is ability to diagnose where my student need more help and focus on those areas quickly to be most effective in accelerating learning and confidence.
Teaching Experience:
I taught my two kids, one now in college and the other in high school, prealgebra and foundational math in their early years. Both of them went on to win numerous national level math competitions (USAMO, AIME, AMC10/8 etc) by building on top of the solid foundation and a genuine love for math. My goal is to help all my students build confidence and mastery in foundational math concepts so that they build advanced math skills naturally.
Teaching Style and Philosophy:
I believe in a student-centered approach, adapting my teaching methods to fit each individual’s learning style. Whether through hands-on problem-solving, or interactive exercises, I strive to make each session engaging and effective. My goal is not just to improve grades but to foster a genuine understanding and appreciation of math.
