Hello, my name is Angela. I have been teaching, tutoring and mentoring students the past 20+ years. I received my B.A. in Psychology from NYU and went on to get my M.A. in Biological Anthropology from SFSU. Finally, my personal academic journey ended when I earned my Ph.D. in Integrative and Evolutionary Biology at USC. Over the years, I have worked with students from middle school to adult learners. My areas of specialty include biology, psychology and environmental science. However, I have also taught all levels of English including SAT. I have experience teaching in both one-on-one and small group settings, as well as classroom environments.
I utilize a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities, visual aids, and interactive games in order to engage students and maximize their learning experience. I also adapt my teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds. Additionally, I like to incorporate real-world examples and practical applications to make learning relevant and meaningful to students' lives. I also encourage active participation and critical thinking to foster independent learning skills.
In addition to teaching/tutoring, I have been employed as a college counselor and editor for the past 12 years. I have been helping students build strong academic portfolios as well as refine their college application essays. I have had the pleasure of aiding students in being accepted into the top Universities including Stanford, Yale, NYU, USC, UC’s etc.
Overall, I am passionate about fostering a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel motivated and confident in their abilities. With my years of experience, I’m confident that I can help students reach their academic goals.
