Hi, I am Steven H. I offer tutoring in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). That specifically includes high school and college math through calculus, physics, electrical engineering, and computer networking. I enjoy making complicated subjects understandable to students. I want to continue to make a difference in the students' lives. Sometimes that has happened through the fun we have had in the classroom. Sometimes it has happened when the students realized I cared....
Sometimes it has happened when the students realized I cared.
I have formally taught at every level from fifth grade through college. I have taught as a (credentialed) substitute teacher in Santa Clara County, California; for Green Apple, where I prepared students for the American Mathematics Competition (AMC) 8 examination; and as an adjunct professor at Santa Clara University, where I developed and taught a course in wireless data communication. I also have experience as a tutor (one-on-one teaching). Using that format, I taught as a teaching assistant teaching computer programming at Brigham Young University, Provo, UT, and as a tutor for Unlimited Learning teaching upper-division engineering coursework.
I have ample technical background to teach the above subjects. I have been a Trusted Advisor for The Security Consortium and a Member of Technical Staff at Hewlett-Packard (HP) Laboratories (HP's premier research laboratory). I hold five U. S. patents.
