I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, maintaining a 3.71 GPA across eight semesters on the Dean's List and receiving the Michael P. Geis Memorial Service Award for outstanding contributions to my department. I co-authored two peer-reviewed publications through research at LMU and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and scored a 514 (89th percentile) on the MCAT.
For four years I worked as a Laboratory Teaching Assistant at LMU across General Chemistry I and II, Organic Chemistry I and II, and Advanced Biochemistry, working one-on-one and in small groups with 8 to 15 students per section. When I noticed recurring calculation errors affecting grades in Organic Chemistry, I independently launched whiteboard review sessions during lab time, which students told me were genuinely helpful. My approach is patient, structured, and adaptive. I meet students where they are, break problems into manageable steps, and focus on building real understanding and confidence, not just getting through the material. I know firsthand how intimidating these subjects can feel, and that firsthand experience shapes how I teach.
