I am an experienced classroom teacher who holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Classics, as well as California teaching credentials in both English and Latin. I have been teaching Latin at all of its levels for fifteen years across the high school, middle school, and college levels. Over this time I have been lucky to build up full programs from scratch and get students of all ages excited and savvy with their Latin skills. As my profile headline shows, I'm a big fan of Star Wars—as well as sci-fi, zombie movies, memes, and all kind of pop culture chicanery. I weave these into my lessons all the time, making the work fun and your knowledge relevant in myriad ways.

While I like to joke around and geek out a bit, I also am super skilled at the intellectual skill work of language instruction. I've developed an entire arsenal of tools, tricks, and devices to help my students learn better, and I've custom-made literally thousands of stories, worksheets, videos, games, memes, and study approaches that I use to help students learn in a way that activates their skills and interests best.

I'm a literature enthusiast and did a second graduate degree in English literature. I taught college English for 5 years and then at the high school level for four years. I bring the same love of language, storytelling, and the human quest to my English work as well. I'm an expert proofreader and great at helping students find their voice, develop their ideas, and deepen their communications about the human condition.
