Hi, I am Etoria! I graduated from Clark Atlanta University (CAU) as a transfer student, I completed the requirement to earn a Bachelors of Arts in Religion and Psychology. The languages that I studied in college were Spanish and Egyptian Grammar (1yr Independent Study). After completing the requirements for a Masters of Divinity, I added to an 89 credit degree 10+ credits to include biblical languages - Ancient Hebrew and Ancient Greek from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia. With up level math course completed at CAU, I completed the requirements for The Clayton County Teacher Alternative Prep Program (CCPS TAPP). While training with TAPP, I taught on a provisional certificate while meeting the course, observation, and portfolio requirements for teacher certification in mathematics.
In Georgia Public Schools, I completed three years of teaching math contracted for grades 6-12 in CCPS and the Department of Juvenile Justice. Moreover, two years of substitute teaching in Atlanta & Clayton Co. Public Schools, K-12. Volunteering since 2000, I facilitated nonprofit coordinating full-time to benefit the education of incarcerated teens with organization, Conscience City. During this time, I also substitute taught for a year in APS, then relocated to CA in 2015. I relocated to San Francisco after searching out philanthropic, art, and tech cities to enhance the professional development and pedagogy that I began in Georgia. I have taught Statistics and Algebra, as well as substituted in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). Currently, I teach math and science in SFUSD.
I currently hold a math teacher credential in California and Georgia. The CA credential is for teaching K-12 math: Algebra I & II, Geometry, Precalculus, Statistics, and Adult Education. I have experience teaching as a private math tutor, as well as an after school program where I am the Math Specialist.
