Spanish tutor with 12+ years experience

I am an experienced Spanish tutor in the Bay Area and have been teaching the language to students for 12+ years. So far I have had the pleasure of teaching over 25 students both at-home and online. I've observed dramatic improvement in my students' comprehension and Spanish-speaking abilities. My knowledge and understanding of the language has been enhanced through travels to Latin America (El Salvador, Costa Rica, Mexico & Panama); I've also spent time in Peru and Spain as well. These experiences have enabled me to become fluent in the language and to understand and be able to engage in different dialects. My education background includes 16+ years of learning Spanish. I graduated in 2014 from Harvard in Government and Romance Languages and Literatures, specializing in Spanish and Portuguese language & culture. While there, I volunteered with a non-profit organization and did extensive ESL work with students who had recently immigrated to the United States.

Separately, I have an extensive background in mathematics and most science subjects through college level. I've been tutoring students for about 8 years in both of these areas and have seen drastic improvement in grades and test scores when working with students. I attended a school that specialized in math and science and as a result have an extensive background in both of these areas. I also really enjoy helping students prepare for the ACT college test and have tutored in this area for the last 5 years; most of my students' scores have gone up by 5 points or greater on math and science.

I love languages and teaching them to others, both to adults and children. Patience is key in learning languages, and it's enjoyable to teach students and watch them succeed in mastering language.
