Marhaban. My name is Rahaf. I love teaching and learning new languages, and about new cultures. I'm originally from Syria. I came to the US three years ago. I teach standard Arabic and Lavantine (Syrian, Lebanese, Egyptian, Jordanian). I have been teaching Arabic for over 2 years, online and in person.
My focus is on conversation. I teach structure and grammar through the patterns in the conversation which makes it way easier to remember and gives you the ability to start conversing from the first hour of your Arabic course, even if you never spoke a word in Arabic before. I teach writing and reading whenever you feel ready for it!
I taught Laventine Arabic to a total beginner and by the end of our 16 hour sessions, my student was able to introduce her self and talk about her work and family and fun activities. I also have been teaching Standard Arabic to one of my students for 2 years now, with stops as we needed based on our schedule, he is able now to write stories in Arabic on his own and talk about his work as a scientist!
I taught English since I was in high school. I always liked English as a second language and learned how to speak it at an earlier age. I also use the same technique in English as in Arabic, conversation teaches you the pattern to learn structure and grammar, with a hint of pure grammar on the side when its easier to learn the grammar first.
If you'd like to speak Arabic or English with a timely manner and more efficiently, I am your way there! Marhaban. My name is Rahaf. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am originally from Syria. Arabic is my native language. I have been teaching Arabic to students in person and online for three years. I have a method that focuses on conversation and I teach structure and grammar through conversation and following the pattern of the language. I taught Standard Arabic and Dialects to Professors, Scientists, translators, professionals, world travelers, and others.
My students at beginner's level were able to converse in Arabic after the first 2 hour session, and after 16 hours of tutoring, they managed to introduce themselves and talk about family, activities and work. Some of my students now write their own stories in Arabic. I am a professional Arabic teacher, I taught classes with Multilingual Connections for Beginner I and II, and I am an Active interpreter and translator for FAYO Bilingual Training Institute based in Chicago.
