My name is Anna. I love tutoring nursing and give knowledge to my students and see them succeeding. I have both a Master's (San Francisco State University) and Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Dominican University) along with 15 years experience in the medical field as RN in (Step Down Unit, Telemetry, Medical-Surgical) and an instructor for RN, LVN and CNA programs. I also was Director of Nursing Program in San Francisco. I have exceptional grasp of nursing teaching techniques and principles and use different styles of teaching during my lessons: visual, hands-on, drawing, discussion. I have good teaching skills and a strong knowledge of how to convey information. I adept at explaining complex medical concepts and procedures to students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Various students who attended my class have achieved a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX board exam.

Anatomy

I am a Professional Tutor. I have both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Nursing along with 15 years' experience in the medical field as RN in different fields. Currently, I am a nursing instructor for RN and LVN programs and teach nursing students Anatomy. I also work as a RN in the hospital on the telemetry unit. I tutor anatomy for my students during off hours.

I have experience teaching children ages 3 to 12 in a variety of subjects including math, reading, spelling, science, history, and study skills. I have worked with elementary school-aged children in math and science, both doing homework help and general school support, as well as working on developing their math abilities above and beyond what's needed for school. Teaching these young children is a very exciting challenge for me, and very much fun, because I am part of the learning process more than with any other students, and I can really feel how what I say and do is forming their minds. I feel I can create mental structures that will help them with their life-long learning rather than just the class I'm helping with at the moment. This is especially important in math, because it can help avoid problem later on. I have delightful way with younger students as well as old, meeting each child right where he or she is at in the learning process. I teach subjects in a caring and dynamic way that is customized to your child's unique learning style and personality. I teach my students skills and confidence by creating a successful learning atmosphere that builds on your child's foundational skills, challenging and encouraging each student for his or her optimum learning experience, while having the most fun in the process!

I specialize in preparing nursing students for success on the HESI examinations by combining in-depth knowledge of nursing content with proven test-taking strategies. My expertise spans core nursing subjects assessed on HESI, including fundamentals, medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology, pathophysiology, maternal–newborn, pediatrics, and mental health. I focus on helping students understand how HESI questions are structured, how to apply critical thinking and clinical judgment, and how to analyze answer choices using priority frameworks such as ABCs, Maslow, and nursing process. Through targeted remediation, NCLEX-style practice questions, and clear rationales, I help students identify weak areas, strengthen content mastery, and improve exam performance. My approach is student-centered, results-driven, and designed to build both confidence and competence for HESI success and overall nursing program progression.

Study Skills

In my experience, the two key factors of success in any subject are skills and confidence. It has been my experience, working with hundreds of nursing students over the past 15 years or so in study skills and other areas, that skills and academic confidence can both be cultivated effectively. Study skills such as time management, organization, and test preparation can be taught and are tremendously effective. I also believe that motivation to succeed depends upon each student's level of academic confidence. I teach study skills, but I also create an environment that fosters growth toward genuine academic confidence and long-term independence. This approach of addressing both skills and confidence simultaneously has been tremendously successful for my students. My goal is to help you achieve full and long-term academic confidence with a solid skill set for independent success in school and life!

Great Review Session

I liked practicing review questions with Ana. She helped me understand how to break down the question and better understand what it is asking. I learned a lot from going over the rationales to the practice question responses. Ana was patient and not judgemental when I didn't know parts of the material.

Knowledgeable tutor

Anna and I went over drug dosage calculations. We worked through several problems of varying degrees of difficulty. I liked her way of helping me solve problems and also that she brought some for us to work together and some for me to take home to work on after our session. Her explanations were very clear. While working out the problems, we also discussed the medication usage and antedotes, which lead us to also touch on little reviews of subjects like kidney failure. Anna did this just to test my nursing knowledge and gauge what I already know. I really liked that she did this because it refreshed my memory of subjects and also made me realize I need to review. I look forward to scheduling another session with Anna!

My 1st In Person Tutor

I wasn't sure what to expect but Anna was very knowledgeable and was able to help me learn within the 1 hour meet time. She has a schedule but will meet with you under your own time as long as it is doable for her. I will see her next week; I think she is what I need to be prepared and ready for the NCLEX-RN!
