Every student is different and has different needs. As an experienced Math Professor, I am able to utilize several different methods to help any student learn the material, which translates very well for in person tutoring.

Currently, I am a college Mathematics professor. I do my best to stay current with the best teaching and tutoring strategies and adapt as best I can to my student's needs.

I'm not a boring tutor, and I absolutely hate going ONLY by the book. I'll use real world examples and show you unique ways to remember any steps for any problems you are facing. You will learn the process of thinking, not just solving.

I have been tutoring for over twelve years and have learned that one method never works for everyone. Each individual student learns different and it's my goal to help you find what works.

I am also bilingual since Spanish is my first language. I can read, speak and write in Spanish very well and that is another tool I have at my disposal if necessary for explaining any types of concepts.

So helpful!!

Rolando helped me to understand each problem by asking questions to see what I knew and then thoroughly explained the correct answer. What was extremely helpful about Rolando was that he asked me what my thought process was on a particular problem and then explained to me the areas where I was wrong. His schedule is VERY flexible and I had no issues arranging times to meet. I would definitely recommend him to any student who is struggling in math.

Very Patient Tutor

Rolando was very patient with my husband, who has cognitive issues. Rolando set up a homepage and spent time going over the computer apps that my husband wants to use on a daily basis. We will have Rolando come again in a few weeks to review the material Joe needs to hear again and answer a couple of other questions. I consider the session well worth it.

Extremely Greatful

Rolando came last minutes to help our daughter for Physics Exam she had today that she was sure she was going to fail. However, after just an hour and a half, she woke up confident she will get an A. When I asked her what she though, she said he was very good at describing things to make them, make sense, he was funny and extremely smart. We highly recommend him to others.

Great Tutor for a very "misunderstood" kid.

My son has Op-positional Defiant Disorder (O.D.D.) accompanied with A.D.D. and A.D.H.D, which can be very frusterating for teachers, especially those who are not educated about the behavioral disorder. It's kind of like a whole lot of teenager-itis. You have to be very aware and acknowledge ALL of the little accompllishments that are made no matter how small they may seem to you or I and praise the child for those accomplishments - and then slowly after doing this they will allow you in their world to make suggestions with out just shutting you out completely and becoming cold and angry. It truly is an art and practice dealing with kids and people that suffer with Op-positional defiant disorder. Most people try to treat and teach them like the norm get VERY frustrated and just give up. It's is very sad and disappointing. It was very refreshing to meet Rolando who immidiately came into our home and met with our 16 year old son (who we've been told by great therapists has a 5th degree black belt with his ODD.....Lol) They immediately started talking about things that interested both of them - sports, music, video games, etc.... Rolando showed interest in Jacobs interests and also expressed concern and frustration with mine when I explained how Jacob got left behind when he had to switch schools in the middle of Eighth grade during Pre-Algebra and then in Ninth grade he was placed in Algebra 1-2 with only half the knowledge he needed from the previous year. So our worst fear came to pass - even after tutoring at the school, with other students and even with a professional Tutoring school he Failed both semesters of Algebra 1-2. He became labled as the problem student - the teacher started sending him out of the classroom, giving him referrals to the principal, etc... because he didn't understand the work and she got tired of trying to "reach" and "teach" him. Rolando has been patient and kind, and encourages Jacob. He knows how to communicate with my son in a way that gets the point across and also gives Jacob a feeling of empowerment especially when he gets the answer correct or is on the right track. Rolando doesn't allow him to be lazy but he also knows how to keep him from building walls. Rolando makes sure that my son KNOWS that HE CAN DO IT and that HE IS SMART and that Jacob
