I specialize in helping high school and college students build confidence and deep conceptual understanding in precalculus, trigonometry, and calculus.

I earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics before spending nearly two decades teaching mathematics at the college level. Over the years, I have worked extensively with STEM-oriented students, AP Calculus students, returning adult learners, and students who feel overwhelmed or discouraged in advanced mathematics courses. I have also supported Purdue engineering students in strengthening the mathematical foundations necessary for success in rigorous STEM coursework.

Many of my students are highly capable learners who struggle not because they lack intelligence, but because they feel overwhelmed, anxious, disorganized, or disconnected from the material. My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help students develop confidence, stronger problem-solving skills, and a clearer understanding of mathematical concepts.

My teaching style is patient, supportive, and highly individualized. I focus heavily on helping students understand the “why” behind concepts rather than relying on memorization alone, and I adapt explanations to the way each student learns best.

Great!!

After one lesson my Daughter took her quiz and got an 80%, which is a 30 point jump from her previous quiz grades. She says that Ms. helped her gain an understanding for math that she did not have before. Thank You Ms. Jones!
