I am a native speaker of Japanese and English and have over 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages and levels in private and group lessons, in corporate settings, and in universities. CANCELLATION POLICY
A 48 hour advance notice is required to cancel or re-schedule any lessons. If you are unable to notify the instructor 48 hours in advance, the full amount for the lesson will be charged. No exceptions.

LATE POLICY
Clients are expected to pay for the full lesson, regardless of how late they are. Please text as soon as you know you will be late.

I am a native Japanese and English speaker, with formal education and bilingual work experience in both Japan and the US. I've taught English/ESL in Japan and the US, and have extensive experience working, communicating, and educating non-native speakers of English. I've worked cross-culturally between Japan and the US, in IT, Marketing, and Film and Media, where I spoke, wrote, created content in Japanese, and interacted with Japanese clients on a daily basis, and acted as a liaison between English and Japanese speakers. I've hired, built, and trained a team of native Japanese speakers to be able to independently write accurate QA reports in English. I've supported foreign workers and children in their transition to living in the United States. My Background: I was born and raised in Northern Japan, where I attended traditional Japanese schools, until I came to the United States to attend college. I hold two graduate degrees, and a graduate certificate in Education and Instructional Design. I was raised in a bilingual environment, where my siblings and I were immersed in Japanese at school, and our English-teacher mother tutored us in English at home. Having come from such a background myself, Japanese bilingual education is one of my specialties.

Naomi is a great tutor--she's helpful, patient, and encouraging. I did three sessions with her to prepare for a trip to Japan and she came prepared every time with what she thought we needed to know, and she easily tailored her lessons to our requests. Arigato gozaimasu!
