I have been tutoring since 2005 in various subjects such as high school and college math, SAT/ACT test prep, high school and college biology including chemistry and physics.
My education is in Molecular and Cell Biology from University of California Berkeley (UCB). I received a Masters of Science in Applied Anatomy and a PhD in Genetic Epidemiology from Case Western Reserve University.

Breaks it down in ways that I can understand
The first time I took statistics I received a C grade which in the Gradate program is a F. I did not have a tutor. The second time around, Yanina was my tutor and I passed the course with a B. I started getting As and Bs on all of my assignments. We have one more statistics course to take and Yanina really breaks down the material (the formulas) in ways that I can understand. Knows her Subject Matter
My daughter is in Honors Chemistry and doing poorly. She was hesitant about seeing a tutor because she has met with her teacher after school and ended up feeling confused and dumb. After 60 min with Yanina I could see that she did not want the session to end because she was grasping the subject matter. To Yanina's credit my daughter was engaged and excited to learn Chemistry at 7:30 on a Sunday night and ended up having a 90 min session. This is just her first session but I know Yanina knows how to connect with a high schooler!
