My name is Marvin, and I am an FAA-certified Flight Instructor (CFI) and Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII). Born and raised in San Francisco, I earned my degree in Psychology from UC Irvine and worked in research before deciding to pursue aviation full-time. I began flying in 2024, completing all of my training in the Bay Area, and I am authorized to teach both primary flight training and instrument instruction.
My background in psychology shapes how I teach: I emphasize clear communication, patience, and adapting to how different students learn. While much of my instruction takes place in the cockpit, ground lessons—especially when conducted online—are a powerful way to break down complex concepts like airspace, weather, aircraft systems, and regulations. I aim to create a calm, welcoming virtual environment where questions are always encouraged, mistakes are treated as valuable learning opportunities, and you can build genuine confidence in your aviation knowledge.
Every pilot’s learning journey is unique, so I tailor my lessons to fit your individual needs while ensuring you meet and exceed FAA certification standards. Whether you are working toward your private pilot certificate or tackling instrument ground school, I am here to help you succeed. Outside of aviation, I stay active with weightlifting, running, spending time outdoors, going to the movies, and relaxing with friends.
