I graduated cum laude from UCLA with a degree in Business Economics, finishing in the top 20% of my class. During my junior year I studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where I concentrated in accounting. Quantitative subjects have always been my strength: I earned straight A's in my algebra and accounting coursework throughout both high school and college, and I chose to pursue accounting at a deeper level because I genuinely enjoy the logic of the subject.

Beyond the classroom, I have applied financial accounting professionally. I performed buy-side research at an investment firm, where reading and interpreting financial statements was a daily part of the job, and I built financial models for commercial real estate lease negotiations. This means I can show students not just how to get the right answer on an exam, but why the material matters and how it is actually used, which makes concepts like accruals, adjusting entries, and the three financial statements far easier to remember.

My approach to tutoring intro financial accounting is patient and fundamentals-first. Most students struggle because debits and credits are taught as memorization rather than as a system, so I focus on building intuition for the accounting equation before layering on mechanics. I work one on one with college students, tailor each session to their specific course and professor, and use plenty of practice problems, because accounting is learned by doing. My goal is for students to walk out of each session able to solve problems on their own, not just follow along while I solve them.

I took accounting courses at UCLA as part of my Business Economics degree, consistently scoring at the top of the class, earning A's, and graduating cum laude. I also concentrated in accounting during my year at the London School of Economics. I later applied these skills in buy-side investment research, and I teach for intuition, not memorization, so students leave able to solve problems on their own.
