I am a credentialed middle school science teacher with several years of experience teaching 7th and 8th grade students in San Francisco public schools. I hold a California teaching credential in science and have taught full-time in a classroom setting, designing and delivering NGSS-aligned curriculum focused on building conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and real-world application of science.

In addition to my science teaching, I have training and experience in STEM and engineering education, including Project Lead The Way (PLTW) coursework in Design and Modeling and Automation & Robotics. This background allows me to support students not only with traditional science content, but also with problem-solving, systems thinking, and hands-on STEM learning.

I have experience supporting students in classroom, small group, and one-on-one settings, helping them catch up on missed work, strengthen foundational skills, and build confidence in their abilities. My teaching experience spans a wide range of learners, including students who need extra support staying organized as well as those who are ready for more challenge and enrichment.

My approach combines clear, structured instruction with a calm and supportive style. I focus not only on helping students understand the material, but also on developing strong study habits, organization, and independent learning skills. Sessions are tailored to each student’s needs and typically include a mix of concept clarification, guided practice, and strategies for staying on track with assignments.

Overall, my goal is to help students feel more confident, capable, and in control of their learning, whether they are working on science content or broader academic skills.

I’ve also taken graduate-level coursework in teaching literacy, so I’m comfortable supporting early reading skills like phonics, comprehension, and building confidence with books.
