Hi there, I'm Dan! I bring over a decade of tutoring experience working with students from elementary through high school, in a variety of settings including one-on-one sessions, small groups, and even classroom student teaching. My experience has taught me how to adapt my approach to each students unique learning style and needs, whether that means slowing down to reinforce fundamentals or providing enrichment for more advanced learners.
Education has always been an important part of my life. My mother is a retired elementary school teacher, and her dedication to her students has strongly influenced my own approach. I strive to be patient, encouraging, and clear in my explanations, breaking down each concept into manageable steps. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to build their confidence and independence as learners.
I am passionate about helping students overcome gaps in understanding. Watching my students have that "ohhhh" moment when they figure out a problem they've been stuck on is the most rewarding part of the job. I take pride in seeing them grow academically and reach their goals. I am committed to creating a positive, supportive learning environment where my students can succeed.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and math is my strongest subject. I am comfortable tutoring a wide range of math classes, from arithmetic at the elementary school level, to algebra, geometry, and calculus at the high school level, and even lower-division college mathematics. I am also happy to tutor students in physics, French, and English language arts from the elementary to high school levels.
