I’m a Bowdoin College alumna with a B.A. in Chemistry and a strong background in both teaching and research. I served as a Teaching Assistant for Organic Chemistry and for a non-majors chemistry course, and worked as an Organic Chemistry lab assistant. Alongside my coursework, I completed multiple chemistry research fellowships at Bowdoin in Analytical and Organic Chemistry and conducted two research summers at the University of Washington (Genome Sciences and the Alaska Salmon Program).
I’ve worked with students across a wide range of backgrounds, from high school through college, in both one-on-one and small group settings. My experience includes peer tutoring in high school (National Honor Society) as well as private tutoring at the high school and college level. I’m particularly skilled at adapting explanations to different learning styles and helping students move from confusion to clarity.
My approach focuses on building a deep, conceptual understanding of chemistry rather than relying on memorization. When students understand the underlying patterns and principles, the material becomes more intuitive, more manageable, and much easier to retain—especially for exams like AP Chemistry and to build a foundation for future coursework and entrance exams. I support students with exam prep, coursework, and long-term mastery, helping them gain both confidence and independence in their thinking.
