I am a recent honors graduate from UC Santa Cruz, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomolecular Engineering. My academic experience includes biology, chemistry, mathematics, and technical writing, with extensive coursework in molecular biology and biochemistry.
I have previously worked as a Math Instructor at the Mathnasium of Santa Cruz and an undergraduate teaching assistant for technical writing and biology lab. Prior to that, I was also actively involved as a CSF tutor during my time at Lowell High School. My experiences have allowed me to work with students of all ages, from elementary to undergraduate first and second years. My approach focuses on identifying gaps in understanding, reinforcing foundational concepts, and then guiding students step-by-step toward independent problem solving. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s learning preferences, whether that means visual explanations, real-world examples, or practice-based learning. I am also familiar with standardized test preparation such as SAT, ACT, HSPT, and AP testing.
As a tutor, I aim to create a supportive and judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe that mastery comes from understanding the “why” behind the material, not just memorizing formulas or definitions. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build lasting skills in critical thinking, study strategies, and scientific reasoning that will serve them well beyond a single course.
