I am an Early Childhood Special Education teacher with the San Francisco Unified School District, where I support young children with diverse learning needs in inclusive, developmentally responsive environments. In this role, I design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), conduct ongoing assessments, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive comprehensive academic and social-emotional support. I prioritize culturally responsive practices and maintain strong partnerships with families, recognizing that family engagement is essential to positive student outcomes.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have provided individualized tutoring for early learners in literacy and foundational math skills. Through one-on-one and small-group instruction, I have supported students in strengthening phonemic awareness, letter-sound recognition, early reading fluency, and number sense. By using data-driven instruction and progress monitoring tools such as DIBELS and other formative assessments, my students have demonstrated measurable growth. For example, several students increased their early literacy benchmark scores from below grade level to meeting or exceeding grade-level expectations within one academic year.
I am also a doctoral student in Educational Leadership, with a focus on advocacy, equity, and strengthening systems that better support educators and families. My advanced studies deepen my understanding of instructional leadership, policy development, and equitable resource allocation. I apply this knowledge to both my tutoring and classroom practice by implementing research-based interventions and analyzing student performance data to inform instruction. My academic training, combined with hands-on teaching and tutoring experience, equips me with the skills to deliver targeted support that improves student achievement and promotes inclusive, high-quality educational outcomes.
