Hi, I'm David, and tutoring has been one of the most meaningful parts of my professional life for over a decade. I began at The Village Project in San Francisco, supporting students from the Fillmore District who needed both academic guidance and encouragement. That experience taught me that confidence is often the missing ingredient in academic success. When students feel understood and supported, real growth follows.
While earning my degree at UC Santa Barbara, I continued tutoring middle and high school students in Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, English, Writing, History, and Science. I've helped students move from struggling with foundational math concepts to mastering core skills, improve essay organization and analytical writing, and develop study systems that make exams less stressful. My focus revolves around clarity and confidence - breaking complex ideas into simple steps while gradually challenging students to think more critically and solve problems on their own.
Families appreciate my patient, structured approach. I believe students thrive when expectations are high but support is consistent. Over time, the students I've worked have become more self-reliant, more confident in class participation, and better equipped to manage their workload independently. I am currently fully booked for SAT and college admissions prep, but I do have availability for middle and high school coursework support. I would love to help your student grow both academically and personally.
