My name is Anvi and I graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, supplemented by two minors in Data Science and Education, as well as a certificate in Entrepreneurship & Technology. I believe deeply in the notion that powerful and intentional education is the key to uplifting an individual's life; with this in mind, I've loved learning and teaching for as long as I can remember. My teaching style is warm, adaptable, and patient—I am always looking for ways to personalize lesson plans to fit the background and needs of the student that I am working with. As an education minor, I believe in constantly adapting my pedagogical approaches to best serve my students.
I've been teaching and tutoring since I was 13, when I began working as a tutor at Kumon. I tutored in reading and mathematics for students ranging from ages 3 to 18 in subjects including sentence comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, algebra, and pre-calculus. Additionally, I coached students in competition math for 4 years (MATHCOUNTS, Math Kangaroo, etc.). Once I came to college, I expanded these services to include full-range college admissions tutoring for students in my local community. Here, I focused intently on crafting student stories, polishing essays, and providing standardized testing preparation services. Overall, I have significant experience in tutoring in all mathematics levels, college level business, all levels of reading, essay writing, and more!
In addition to academic subjects, I am deeply passionate about tutoring and teaching non-traditional subjects like entrepreneurship and public speaking. I have tutored in both of these subjects for upwards of 5 years and absolutely adore helping students find their passions.
