Hi, I’m Robyn! I’m a writer and educator with over 20 years of experience helping students of all ages become stronger, more confident writers. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing and have taught in public schools, after-school programs, college classrooms, and as a San Francisco WritersCorps Writer-in-Residence.
I work with students on a wide range of goals, including academic writing at the elementary through college levels, SAT and ACT writing preparation, college admissions essays, and creative projects like stories, poetry, graphic novels, and video animations. My teaching style is supportive and flexible—I meet students where they are. With younger learners, I focus on making writing approachable and fun. With older students, I emphasize clarity, organization, and polishing essays to help their work stand out.
Currently, I teach writing and digital storytelling to fifth-graders in San Francisco. Though I lead the class, my favorite part of the job is working with students one-on-one or in small groups and customizing curricula to fit individual learning goals.
When I’m not working with students, I write fiction and educational resources, and my work has appeared in literary journals like Conjunctions and Colorado Review, as well as KQED Teach and Teachers & Writers Magazine. I’d be excited to support you in your writing journey — from brainstorming and organizing ideas to polishing final drafts.
