The best thing a teacher can do for students is to make learning FUN. Successful students are those who WANT to learn. It is my job as a teacher to make learning physics interesting for students.

I studied physics at Boston University and worked as a Particle Physics Researcher searching for supersymmetry at the Large Hadron Collider, the world's most powerful particle accelerator, located at CERN in Switzerland. I've also worked as an Aerospace Engineer at BAE Systems, the UK's largest aerospace company. In these roles, I successfully applied physics to resolve real-world challenges.

My unique physics lessons use REAL-WORLD SCENARIOS to make physics learning fun and UNDERSTANDABLE for students. Physics students usually get "lost in the math" and I find that connecting physics theory to real-world problems helps students understand physics concepts much faster and better. In tutoring sessions, I use key problems that unite different physics concepts so students can see the "big picture."

Physics Experience:
I worked as a Particle Physics Researcher for the LHC, which hosts the largest physics collaboration in history. I love working at the frontiers of physics and I love sharing my understanding of physics and the world with students.

Mathematics Experience:
I received a 5 on my AP Calculus BC exam and was able to skip Calculus 1 in university. At university, I then received an A in Calculus 2. I received A's in Quantum Physics 1, Quantum Physics 2 and Electromagnetism 1, all of which used advanced mathematics.

Physics

I am a Particle Physics Researcher and Aerospace Engineer by training. I have extensive experience using various physics concepts in both academic and professional settings. The most important part of learning physics is making it FUN. Physics students often get "lost in the math" because they don't see the "big picture." My goal is to use REAL-WORLD EXAMPLES to make physics UNDERSTANDABLE for students. I remember when I was studying physics, my favorite professors always connected physics THEORY to REAL-WORLD EXPERIMENTS. Every student is unique and needs to learn at their own pace. I'm committed to helping you learn at YOUR pace. Whether your teacher goes too fast or too slow in physics class, I will work with you to build the most suitable learning environment for YOU. My tutoring expertise is in high school physics and college physics: High School Physics, Honors Physics, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics B, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, Physics SAT II, SAT Subject Test in Physics, Algebra-based College Physics, Calculus-based College Physics, General College Physics 1, General College Physics 2, Classical Physics, Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Quantum Physics, Thermodynamics, Statistical Physics, Mathematical Physics, Particle Physics, Solid State Physics and Relativistic Physics. I received 3 Science Olympiad medals in physics subjects like optics, a 5 on my AP Physics B exam and A's in Quantum Physics 1, Quantum Physics 2 and Classical Electromagnetism in college.
Quantum Physics

Quantum Physics

I have a Bachelor's in Physics from Boston University. During college, I received A's in both Quantum Physics I and II. I also subsequently became the teaching assistant for both courses. In addition, I have 3 years of Particle Physics Research experience supporting the Large Hadron Collider experiment at CERN.
Real Analysis

Real Analysis

I received A's in both Quantum Mechanics 1 and 2 at university, both of which used Real Analysis heavily in the manipulation of particle wavefunctions. I also used Real Analysis with success in a particle physics course and a mathematical methods for physicists course. To add to that, in particle physics research we lean heavily on analysis to help us calculate differential scattering cross sections.
SAT Math

SAT Math

The SAT Math section is challenging because it contains many concepts from several courses. Even if a student has mastery of certain subjects, she still needs to "round out" her understanding to get a high score on the section. As a physicist, I've been exposed to many areas of math before, so I know the difficulties of needing to master multiple mathematical concepts. I'm confident I can help you master multiple areas of math in a cohesive way.
Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics

I received the highest score on the thermodynamics exam in my AP Physics class. I also received an A in statistical mechanics while at university. In addition, I've successfully used thermodynamics in my work as a particle physics researcher.
