Hi! I’m Suruchi. I have a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from UNC Chapel Hill, where I researched novel multivalent antibodies for therapeutics and hold a licensed patent. During my PhD, I received a pre-doctoral fellowship and taught the undergraduate microbiology lab for two semesters. I’ve mentored students from high school to graduate level — many have gone on to Duke, PhD programs at Boston University, and careers in biotech.
I earned my bachelor’s in Biochemistry with a Math minor from Claflin University on a full ride honors scholarship. While there, I tutored my peers in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, and calculus for three years. I also completed a summer internship at Novartis, which sparked my passion for applying science to real-world problems. After graduation, I was accepted to eight graduate programs, including Cornell.
Beyond academia, I have three years of industry experience as a scientist developing cell therapies for solid tumors. I also mentor high school students at Unity High School, helping them with college applications and building confidence in STEM fields.
I believe anyone can master tough subjects with the right support and dedication. I break down complex ideas into simple steps and tailor each lesson to your learning style and goals. I use real-life examples and analogies to make challenging concepts easier to understand. I encourage questions and active participation to build confidence and a strong connection. I also provide comprehensive guidance on applying to and interviewing for undergraduate and graduate programs.
