Hi, I'm Ezra. By trade, I am a copywriter. I am excited to bring my communication and storytelling foundation to my tutoring practice. I've always loved writing and teaching. It's one of the reasons I majored in Journalism at Rutgers University and then decided to teach English in Korea. I taught ESL to elementary through high school students, including coaching advanced learners for English-speaking competitions. This international experience allowed me to teach students of every ability and adapt my approach to meet each student where they were.

I approach teaching by focusing on engagement and practical skill development. I utilize guided brainstorming sessions with freewriting exercises to help students generate ideas without pressure. I provide specific, constructive guidance on drafts through personalized feedback, implementing focused revision cycles that address structure, clarity, and other essential elements. I believe in "show, don't tell" demonstrations - working collaboratively with students to rewrite sentences in real-time, transforming theoretical concepts into practical writing skills they can apply independently.

My teaching and professional writing experiences have provided me with valuable tools for guiding students not only to write effective essays, but to find their voice in the process. When I'm not working, you can find me on the pickleball court, at an AMC movie theater, rooting for New York sports teams, or enjoying the natural beauty of Golden Gate Park.
