I was a reader for Stanford University Admissions and understand what admissions officers look for in personal statements, supplemental essays, and activities lists. Need to find your authentic voice? Discover what makes you unique? I can help you craft essays that are compelling, genuine, and memorable—ones that will make you stand out from thousands of other applicants. I’ve helped many students gain admission to some of the most highly selective schools and programs in the country, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

I can also help you better understand and analyze literature—literary devices, characterization, themes, plot structure, figurative language, and more. Does Shakespeare feel like a foreign language? Does poetry put you to sleep? Still can't figure out why Jane Austen is so popular? Once you understand what an author is trying to say, writing literary or rhetorical analyses becomes easy!

If you struggle with history, government, or social studies, I can help you ace your exams and research papers, as well as make sense of the world around you. As William Faulkner once wrote: “The past is never dead. It's not even past.”

I love working with students to help them achieve their very best—with a minimum of stress. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Personal Statements

I was a reader for Stanford University and have spent more than twenty-five years successfully coaching students through college, graduate school, special program, and job applications. Applications are my passion. I don’t just help you craft a product that will rise to the top of the stack, but also teach strategies that enable you to write a strong application every time.
