Hi! I'm C, a Stem Cell Biologist in the San Francisco area. I bring a strong academic foundation and diverse teaching experience to my tutoring practice. I recently completed a PhD in Stem Cell Biology at Stanford University. Currently, I am a scientist at a local start-up, where I focus on developing next-generation stem cell therapies. My journey in education has always been intertwined with a passion for learning and mentoring, and I’m excited to share this with students on Wyzant.
At Stanford, I had the privilege of mentoring undergraduate students as a peer mentor and staff coordinator at the Queer Student Resource Center. In this role, I supported students in their personal and academic growth, helping them navigate the challenges of university life. Additionally, I co-led the Stanford Jail and Prison Education Project, facilitating educational programs in correctional settings. These experiences taught me how to adapt my teaching and mentoring approaches to different learning styles, ages, and contexts, ranging from designing and teaching a syllabus, one-on-one mentoring, and leading group discussions.
I joined Wyzant because I genuinely miss the joy of working with students and helping them achieve their goals. Whether it’s breaking down complex biological concepts, providing guidance on academic pathways, or simply being a supportive resource, I aim to make learning about science engaging and accessible. I look forward to meeting the unique needs of each student I work with!
