Hi, I'm Geetanshi! I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2022 with a BA in Cognitive Science, specializing in computer science and linguistics, and I am currently a product manager in the tech industry. I am also concurrently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at California State University, San Francisco, with the goal of becoming a professor in literature in creative writing.
I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring English and creative writing. I was an undergraduate instructor in the English department at UC Berkeley for 3.5 years, teaching and creating curriculum for classes centered on the critical analysis of literature. I was also a writing tutor for other undergraduate students and high school students during this time.
I also have experience tutoring computer science, specifically at the beginner and high school level. I'm particularly passionate about teaching young coders, and I conducted research on more effective methods to teach young people how to code through the Embodied Design Research Laboratory at UC Berkeley. As a member of the Society of Women Engineers, I helped run the High School Engineering Program, through which I created and taught lessons in both introductory and AI-focused computer science projects.
I am also experienced in college essay writing and elementary education.
As a tutor, I'm focused on how I can best benefit the students I work with. My teaching style centers an integrated and interactive approach that is individualized to each student's needs. I welcome any resources or suggestions from students/parents, and I am easy to reach. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions, or to schedule a lesson!
