Hi my name is Christopher and I am a UCLA alum heading to medical school next year and I would love to provide any assistance I can to you and your child!

As a learning assistant for chemistry, physics, and psychology classes. I was trained in various teaching techniques with the aim of fostering collaboration between students and encouraging the use of critical thinking skills through open-ended questions. I was responsible for helping students work through chemistry and physics problem sets and psychology labs. I had weekly meetings with the professors in order to discuss the material as well as provide student feedback on the material being taught in class. As an LA, I learned the value of asking questions in order to check for complete understanding from the student rather than allowing for passive and incomplete learning.

I did well on my math SAT in high school (790) and have always had a soft spot for math growing up I would love to help students navigate their way through the various complicated equations!

I have been teaching chemistry for about three years as a learning assistant at UCLA so I know what are the best strategies for digesting the material and understanding difficult concepts!

Career Development

Career Development

"As a fourth-year medical student currently navigating my own neurology residency application — building a 50+ program list, refining my personal statement, and coordinating letters of recommendation — I understand the ERAS process from the inside, not just in theory. I've spent years in mentorship roles, from Keck Peer Support Counselor to UCLA AAP Peer Counselor to Admissions Committee Interviewer, so I know how to meet students where they are and give feedback that's honest rather than just reassuring. My own path included a Step 1 setback I had to explain and overcome, which gives me real perspective on how to help students turn a non-linear record into a coherent, compelling application. I'd bring both the lived experience of going through this cycle right now and a track record of sustained, hands-on mentorship to helping other students think strategically about their own career development.
College Counseling

College Counseling

I worked with underserved populations to provide comprehensive academic counseling. This involved creating detailed four-year plans, giving guidance with academic deadlines, and providing resources for students to seek academic help or major advertising. During the pandemic, we had to adapt to virtual one-on-one appointments with our students in 30-minute sessions. I collaborated with academic counselors to lead workshops involving graduation requirements, premed advising, and mental health awareness. We also hosted drop-in counseling to answer any questions pertaining to campus resources or last-minute academic petitions.
MCAT

MCAT

I wanted to try helping people out with Chem/Phys since I did pretty well on that section (129) and could definitely give some tips and pointers for people who wanna try me out! I wasn't really sure how much to charge but we can definitely negotiate it but message me for more details! I did help one student so far and helped him go from a 125-126 to a 128! Background on me: I'm a UCLA alum currently applying to medical school! I got a 512 MCAT overall but always had a strong math/chem/phys background and have had experience co-teaching in these subjects. Tutoring Information: I was thinking I could be on zoom and go over any supplemental material you have! This could very from aamc content, uworld, and to questions from other third party companies. My goal is to explain solid strategies of how to efficiently go through CP passages as well as explaining any content gaps that may be present. I also have some old practice questions and access to the AAMC Qbanks and can use my ipad to go over questions as well! I am pretty flexible with scheduling and can work around what you need! Tutoring sessions could be anywhere from 1-3 hours.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

"I recently wrote and revised my own personal statement through multiple drafts for my neurology residency application, so I know firsthand how hard it is to turn a scattered set of experiences into a coherent narrative — and how much a structured process helps. As an Admissions Committee Interviewer, I've also seen personal statements from the other side, which gives me a clear sense of what actually stands out to reviewers versus what falls flat. My background in mentorship, from Keck Peer Support Counselor to UCLA AAP Peer Counselor, means I know how to draw a real story out of someone rather than just polishing generic phrasing. I'm also comfortable giving direct, honest feedback rather than empty encouragement, which I think matters more for a document this personal and high-stakes than anything else."
USMLE

USMLE

"As a fourth-year medical student who scored a 240 s on Step 2 CK after working through my Step 1 setback, I understand both what it takes to excel on these exams and how to recover from a rough patch — something many students face but few can speak to honestly. I built my own systematic approach to high-yield content review and question-based learning across multiple NBME practice exams, improving my scores by over 25 points through targeted content review and disciplined test-taking strategy. My clinical rotations, including an ongoing Neurology Sub-Internship at Harbor-UCLA, keep my USMLE-tested concepts grounded in real patient care rather than rote memorization. I'm comfortable being direct about what's actually working versus what isn't in a student's prep, which I think matters more than generic encouragement when the stakes are this high."
