Hello! My name is Amelia and I have been working as a tutor for over 7 years now. I began working as a tutor in college for an in home tutoring company which I eventually left to work here on Wyzant's platform. Since joining Wyzant's platform, I have mainly tutored in Chemistry though I also tutor other subjects such as math and biology. I have a bachelors degree that was heavily science based so I have a strong background in math and science.

Hello! My name is Amelia and I have been working as a tutor for over 7 years now. I began working as a tutor in college for an in home tutoring company which I eventually left to work here on Wyzant's platform. Since joining Wyzant's platform, I have mainly tutored in Chemistry though I also tutor other subjects such as math and biology. I have a bachelors degree that was heavily science based so I have a strong background in math and science.

I tutor students online from the middle school level all the way to the college level. I am a patient tutor and I always ask my students for confirmation on their understanding and I do not mind repeating myself or going through a problem in a different way for better understanding. I always ask my students to send me examples of what they would like to work on or to tell me what topics they would like to cover so I can be prepared for our sessions. How sessions go with each student differs depending on the student themselves. I do not tutor each student the exact same way and I strive to accommodate each students needs to help them succeed. I have worked with a few students who had learning disabilities. I use visual examples when I tutor which I find to be especially helpful using the online classroom. I enjoy finding new ways to teach students and I often develop new techniques based on sessions I have had.

I am available to answer any questions you may have regarding my rates, the online classroom, or tutoring in general. I want to make sure that my students or parents of the students and myself are on the same page as far as tutoring. I like to ensure the satisfaction of my clients which is how I have maintained my five star rating. I look forward to working with you toward achieving your academic goals.

Amelia is a wonderfully flexible and smart tutor. She was VERY easy for my daughter to connect with. She knows SO much about chemistry and helped my kid pull and A in the class. She could not have accomplished this without Amelia!!

BEST TUTOR EVER!

Best College Chem tutor EVER! Without Amelia I would not have passed chem! The homework was brutal and I tried using the free college tutoring sessions and staying behind getting clarification from the instructor, but I also worked, and the time the college tutors and instructors can give you is limited. That's why I love WYZANT and love that I found Amelia! I felt like I was going to fail the math and never understand the concepts and steps, but she did it. She went step by step through the homework, worked with my schedule, making herself available, and explained chemistry in a way I could understand. I am so grateful for her patience and for simplifying chemistry for me. Bonus is she is affordable, and I was able to get a weekly routine of tutoring that got me through the semester. I recommend Amelia 100%. At the end, I received a high B!

Tutored at good pace

Good 1st session. My daughter understood the lesson better with Amelia than she understands her Chem. teacher. Amelia explained the lesson at a level that’s easier for my daughter to really understand it. I don’t recall her being this confident without laboring hours of frustration.
