My experience with ADD/ADHD includes tutoring students with these diagnoses from pre-k through college for 10+ year's at a private learning center, at elementary and middle-school classrooms to teach writing, grammar, vocabulary and additional subjects to groups and 1:1. One schizophrenic adult college student and I strived for 2 years with his college English courses and assorted testing skills - then celebrated the experience of attaining B's, then A's for the first time - joyously amazed at what can be accomplished with teamwork. I've assisted Glendora Unified School District teachers with testing ADD, ADHD, and learning-challenged students, as well as assisting groups of K-5 students on-campus with assorted subjects, reading, memorization, writing, testing, and challenges (where patience, understanding, humor, and kindness are extremely effective,) while identifying learning styles, strengths, and goal-setting.

The academic aspects of music as well as the sheer enjoyment of performing has been a true gift in my life, and I enjoy helping others explore the rich rewards of music as they reach their potential.

Knowledgeable, patient and intuitive tutor.

I am grateful to have found Barbara for my son's tutoring needs. She was patient, kind and encouraging. She introduced "Touch Math" to help my son with his Common Core math problems. I was also impressed with how observant she was with his needs as a student. My son is ADHD and her intuition to switch things up to meet his learning needs, increased his capability of learning everything she was trying to teach him. In fact, later on this evening as we were doing math homework, I noticed how quickly he had already caught on to what she had taught him. I could tell his confidence was boosted through this session! What I liked most about Barbara is that she is excited to tutor my son again this week. And we look forward to having her back again in our home!
