Hello,
My name is Amanda and I am excited about the possibility of tutoring you to help you learn the fascinating French language. A little bit about me: I am a French honors graduate passionate about helping both teenagers and adults learn French. I know it can be intimidating at first and what I love about tutoring is helping students become more confident in their language skills. While learning a new language, each student has different strengths and weaknesses, and I am committed to tailoring my lesson plans to each student’s needs and goals. Whether I am teaching French to beginners or working with a middle or high-school student to complement traditional classroom learning, I thrive on sharing my passion and extensive knowledge of the French language and culture with my students. I have over 3 years of experience living and working in France and have had a variety of educational and work experiences that have prepared me for this role as a successful tutor. My professional experiences include working as a teaching assistant, a tutor for French 1 and 2, an administrative assistant, and translator. With my broad background in the French language, this is something that sets me apart from many other tutors.
As a proofreading tutor, I have experience in editing student’s writing assignments as well as school administration documents. I have a natural knack for grammar, punctuation, writing, spelling, and translation from French to English. My past experience as an English language teaching assistant and ESL tutor for high-school and community college students in Toulouse, France, has inspired me to continue to work with students to enhance their reading, writing, and speaking skills. An important part of being a tutor is my relationship with each student. I am competent, conscientious, patient, caring, honest, and friendly. I strive to help each student with pronunciation, oral and written comprehension skills, translation, and more. I am willing to take on new students of different levels and backgrounds.
