Hello! I'm Jodie, a passionate and experienced software engineer and computer science educator based in Southern California. I served as an Algebra and Geometry tutor at Torres ELAPA High School in East Los Angeles, where I worked with students to enhance their understanding of mathematical concepts, helping them achieve better grades and build a strong foundation for future studies.
I have provided private tutoring to students in various junior colleges, helping them navigate challenging coursework and develop the skills needed to succeed in their academic endeavors.
As a teaching assistant at CS@SC Camps, I provided students with an early education in computer science, engineering, and applied physical science. My achievements include helping over 50 students understand the fundamentals of programming, teaching them what it means to write a program, and how to use basic programming constructs. I successfully built student confidence in coding skills and knowledge, teaching both beginner and intermediate courses in Java and Python.
