I studied as an undergraduate at the University of California, San Diego and graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2011. After working in industry for a few years, I attended graduate school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I graduated with an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2017.

I focused my studies in the area of solid mechanics and computational mechanics (solving the equations of mechanics with a computer using the finite element method or FEA as is it is known on many CAD systems and using optimization to improve designs). If any of these topics interest you, I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about them.

While at the University of Illinois, I was a TA for 6 semesters in the Mechanical Engineering department. I TA'd both statics and solid mechanics 3 semesters each. I also completed a graduate teacher certificate while in graduate school. Teaching was one of the things I enjoyed most while in school.

Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

Naturally in engineering, linear algebra is a subject that frequently used in just about every class that is taken. Because I specialized in computational mechanics, linear algebra was front and center since in most problems that I worked on, a linear system needed to be solved at some point. I have studied the topic in much depth as a result.
MATLAB

MATLAB

All of the programming assignments and projects that I completed in graduate school were done using MATLAB. I focused on simulation of solid mechanics equations using MATLAB tools and functions and code developed using the finite element method. I also completed optimization projects using MATLAB.
Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

I completed a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. I also worked in industry doing mechanical design. I've also worked as a TA in grad school teaching mechanical engineering classes.

Best tutor I've ever had

He really takes his time to understand the problem and makes sure that you do as well. He put in a lot of extra effort to prepare for tutoring sessions before hand. He really helped me understand the problem and the idea behind it.

Really helpful

Chris help me understand the concepts I struggled with in my class. I diffently recommend him if you are taking statics or any other subject.

Covered all that was requested.

Genuinely nice guy. Covered all that was asked of him in regard to Linear Algebra and was willing to share insight as to his academic experiences went. Thanks Chris. The following weeks test went very well.
