I have been a professional union actress and teaching artist for over 10 years. As an educator, I have worked with students across the country to develop their acting skills, public speaking, voice and speech, reading comprehension, Shakespeare, and musical ability. I have taught in school residencies, summer camps, private lessons, and directed productions. Currently, I serve as the Education Director of a local theatre where we are building a professional level training academy for Musical Theatre students. I have special training and experience with Shakeapeare, historical speeches, commedia dell'arte, auditioning, monologues, and story telling through the song.
As an actor, I have worked at such prestigious regional theatres as Ford's Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Shakespeare Theatre Company, and Olney Theatre Center. I have had the pleasure to work on and off stage with well-known theatre artists including Jeff Calhoun, Nancy Opel, Javier Munoz, and Leigh Silverman. I bring this experience and variety of voices and experiences to my work with my students.
I am trained in Stanislavsky and Viewpoints techniques, but have studied many others. I believe firmly in exposing my students to as many methods as possible so they have all the tools at their disposal to make the best performance they can offer.
I have worked with students across the country on dissecting, understanding, interpreting, and performing famous historical speeches and first person narratives on stage at Ford's Theatre. Whether you are doing a presentation or oral exam in front of your class, or delivering a keynote address - the skills required remain the same and I can provide the techniques to build the best performance you can.
I have experience being a proofreader on many academic papers for publication, especially in economics and theatre, and am happy to help you ensure your paper has the flow and meaning you intend as well as check for technical errors and consistency.
I have been training in Musical Theatre most of my
