I’m a PhD-trained molecular immunologist with real-world biotech experience, and I specialize in helping students truly understand biology—not just memorize it for exams. I work with high school and college students (including AP Biology and pre-med) to break down complex topics like cell signaling, genetics, and the immune system into clear, intuitive concepts.
In addition to tutoring, I have experience working with children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, as a YMCA-certified respite worker. I combine patience, structure, and supportive coaching to help each student learn at their own pace. I am also CPR and BFA certified for pediatrics, children, and adults.
I am also fluent in Spanish, having minored in Spanish during my undergraduate studies and lived abroad in South America for six months. I have worked as a translator and achieved a perfect score on the SAT Spanish subject exam. I enjoy helping students build both conversational fluency and strong academic Spanish skills.
Outside of academics, I am a lifelong pianist with over 25 years of experience playing in bands and live performance settings. I teach practical piano skills including rock, blues, jazz, and ragtime styles, with a focus on improvisation, musicality, and playing by ear.
