Hello, i am a Graduate student in Music Composition who recieved Highest Honors in Music Composition and Playwriting. I studied and performed Jazz, Classical and New Music extensively during my tenure at UC San Diego. I was honored to work with Professors that have won the Pulitzer Prize, the Grawenmayer Award, inductees to the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and a Grammy recipient.
During this time I began also teaching mostly kids of professors and other community members and actively adapted my pedagogical approach through my Independent Study and lessons from these mentors.
I have an extensive background teaching children and adults guitar, piano, voice and composition/songwriting. I have helped my talented students with everything from developing lyrics, engaging stage presence through multimodal performance skills, and helping them get the most of their studio time, guiding them through the process of recording their first songs.
With a current piano student, we have currently branched out into her exploring jazz as well as playing a Mozart Sonata and learning integrated apporaches to theory and improvisation that she uses in her talent shows and middle school rock bands as well as her development as a holistic musician.
I find joy in sharing the knowledge and techniques that I have learned thus far from great mentors and professors, and am constantly striving to adapt my approach to the individual needs and oals of my students.
