My approach to teaching is to encourage my students to develop critical thinking skills by first helping them master the fundamentals of chemistry to then work through challenging problems. I specialize in general chemistry at the high school and college level, organic chemistry, AP chemistry, and chemistry for the MCAT.
For my students who are taking general chemistry, AP chemistry, or organic chemistry I can offer a thorough and understandable explanation of the material that is being taught. We can then apply what has been learned to solve various word and math problems related to the material to make sure logic and understanding is correct. My goal is to help you figure out and solve questions with confidence and independence so that you crush your homework assignments and exams on your own.
For my MCAT test takers: not only will we make sure that the chemistry fundamentals asked about by the AAMC are fully understood, but we will also work on tackling difficult or complicated looking passages. My strategies of breaking down really complex looking structures or paragraphs will help you see how the AAMC is still asking you about fundamentals of chemistry. Through practice you will gain the confidence you need to make it through the MCAT with a high level of confidence and a high score. I also work on test taking strategy, as I have been through several big exams myself (patent bar and LSAT) and understand the mentality you will have to adapt to achieve a high score.
