Hi! My name is Aaron K. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I want to tell you about myself. I am 27 years old. I have worked the last four years as a full time teacher. The first two years of my teaching career were at the Elementary level. The most recent two years, I taught Spanish at the high school level. I plan to work as a substitute teacher for the 2019 school year in the San Diego Unified School District. In June of 2015, I graduated from Eastern Washington University with a major in Spanish, minor in teaching English as a Second Language. I am endorsed to teach Elementary and High School Spanish and ELL.
I have a passion for languages, especially Spanish. I feel blessed to have studied in Spain during college. During this time, I developed my communication skills in Spanish. I lived with a host family for four months. Living with a Spanish family allowed me to get a unique glimpse into a beautiful culture. I'm proud that I achieved a 3.89 while studying abroad.
I completed a year long study at Eastern Washington University of how to teach English as a Second Language. Throughout the year, I received a 4.0 in all of my ESL classes. I have a passion to help others learn English because I see the opportunity for advancement in many countries become quickly available through increased English proficiency.
I have studied Spanish for 13 years. I will be a great Spanish tutor because I had to learn the language through school, speaking with friends, speaking with friends' parents, listening to music and watching movies in Spanish. I know many ins and outs behind language learning. I was formally trained to be a High School Spanish teacher at Eastern Washington University. I really enjoyed seeing the growth of students in their confidence in Speaking Spanish throughout my two years teaching Spanish at the High School level.
