I have taught foreign languages in high school, and also at both the community college and university levels. In addition to having been a teacher of foreign languages, I am also a singer. I spent a fulfilling 35-year career with San Diego City Schools. During that time, I always made it a point to employ song in the teaching of German, Russian, and Spanish to my first year students, because I found this tool most helpful in my own studies of foreign languages. The eldest of my former high school students are now 62 years of age. Many of them are my very good friends today, and they still remember the songs I taught them in high school 48 years ago, when they were in 10th Grade!
If you are studying German, Russian, or Spanish, and would like to learn many songs in one of those languages, you will find my method entertaining, easy, as well as educational. The songs you learn will provide cultural insight, new vocabulary, and additional knowledge of grammar and colloquial usage. I will also provide a list of places where you will be able to hear and/or sing the songs you have learned with me.
