My daughter took to Valerie's demeanor and teaching approach right away. I could hear her going "oh - i get it!" during the first session. Her first test post-tutoring was up two letter grades. Well worth it. Great math tutor.
I'm typing this review, after our first session. She is an absolute delight! She is a highly intelligent person. I'm absolutely pleased with her level of service, and expect to achieve great success in my studies. A+!
Valerie was really great. She is easy to contact and she was never late to any of our sessions. She responded to my emails/texts quickly and was always willing to help. She even came over on the weekends a couple times. She really devotes a lot of her time to helping her students. The class that she helped me with was Java programming. Before her help I had a C- and with her help I was able to get a B as my final grade. I was ecstatic! She's very kind and patient. She never once got frustrated with me. I would highly recommend her to any of my friends.
Valerie worked with me for six weeks during my challenging Advanced Object Oriented Programming course (AOOP). Without a professional like herself, I would not be able to succeed in the course. Though she has a strong background in C++, she was able to leverage it in order to help me with the Java programming language. She was always committed, always on time and accommodating of my schedule. Because of her, I was able to keep my grade two letters higher than the course I was heading. I wouldn't pass up a tutoring session with Valerie!
Valerie worked with my daughter who hates math, and not only successfully got her through statistics, but had my daughter laughing out loud and thoroughly enjoying the process. My daughter did great in the class and also has confidence moving forward. A wonderful, patient, caring teacher and person.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
