Hello!

My name is Jenny, and I hope I can be of help to you and/or your child in areas you feel need support.

Here is a bit about my educational background:
I am an alumni of UC San Diego's Graduate Education Studies Program from which I received a Master of Education degree and Preliminary Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (2011). I hold a BA in Psychology from the same institution. I am knowledgeable in research-based teaching practices and California and Common Core State Standards. Prior to the Education Studies Program, I volunteered as a reading tutor in San Diego Unified School District and worked as a teaching assistant at an after-school enrichment program where I discovered my joy for working one-on-one with students. I concurrently work as a Substitute Teacher for grades Pre-K through 12 in general education, critical skills classrooms, and special education settings, so have a genuine desire to connect with children of various ages and backgrounds.

Here is why I do what I do:
Helping children and young adults find success in their daily struggles are what drive me the most. If I can help alleviate any misunderstandings and guide students to become more independent and confident, I feel that the student and I have both won. My specialties in teaching have been modifying lessons to meet the unique needs of each child. Therefore, you can be rest assured that I will adapt lessons that will engage your child and meet his/her needs while challenging your child.

As a tutor I have been lucky to build lasting relationships with families, and am filled with pride seeing students graduate middle school and high school with confidence.

Feel free to contact me at any time. I hope to work with you soon and help you and/or your child reach the success that you wish to reach.

Kind Regards,

Jenny N.
