I am a private trumpet instructor with experience teaching students in one-on-one settings. I have 10 years of experience playing trumpet, and have performed with professional bands in Washington D.C., California, Chicago, and Hawaii. My approach focuses on building strong fundamentals, developing confidence, and helping students reach their individual goals through personalized instruction. I work with students at different skill levels and adapt lessons to each learner's pace, learning style, and musical interests. In addition to performance skills, I emphasize proper technique, music reading, tone production, and effective practice habits that lead to long-term improvement.

Alongside my teaching experience, I am a current college student studying for a degree in aerospace engineering. I have completed math up to differential equations. As an student studying to become an engineer, my experience helps me explain concepts clearly, break down complex material into manageable steps, and support students who may need extra guidance or encouragement. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they grow.

I played competitive baseball for five years, specializing exclusively as a pitcher and reaching a peak fastball velocity of 82 mph. Through that experience, I developed a strong understanding of pitching mechanics, velocity development, arm care, and game strategy. I enjoy helping Little League, middle school, and even high school pitchers improve their skills through personalized instruction focused on proper mechanics, consistency, and confidence on the mound.

I have experience working with students individually, allowing me to provide focused attention and customized feedback during each lesson. Whether a student is preparing for a performance, learning an instrument for the first time, or seeking additional academic support, I strive to make lessons engaging, organized, and tailored to their specific needs.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

My mathematics experience extends beyond Algebra 1 into college-level physics and chemistry, where algebra is used daily to analyze forces, energy, electrical circuits, chemical reactions, and scientific data. I recently completed Differential Equations where I was forced to review Algebra throughout my entire semester. This practical experience allows me to show students how algebra serves as the foundation for future STEM coursework. I specialize in helping students who struggle with word problems, equation setup, graph interpretation, and mathematical confidence by breaking complex problems into manageable steps.

Calculus

I've completed all math up to Differential Equations. I've maintained a B+ average across all calculus and Linear Algebra classes. I've helped tutor fellow classmates in the Math Lab at my college, and helped tutor underclassmen when I took calculus 1 & 2 in high school. I also have taken a course provided by the San Diego Community College District on Tutor Training("Total Requirement: 36 hours of activities -6 hours of equity and culturally responsive training in Canvas -10 hours of shadowing at a Miramar ASC tutoring center -20 hours of Canvas work Completing EDUC 100 with a passing grade")

I have over 3 years of experience teaching trumpet in one-on-one lessons, working with students of varying ages and skill levels. I have played trumpet for 10 years, performed in Washington D.C., Chicago, California, and Hawaii, and have experience in music performance for: Jazz Bands, Marching Bands, Brass Ensembles and Wind Ensembles. My instruction focuses on developing strong fundamentals, including tone production, breath support, technique, music reading, and effective practice habits. I tailor each lesson to the individual student's goals, whether they are learning the instrument for the first time, preparing for auditions, or seeking to improve their overall musicianship.
