Hi, I’m Christina! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Computer Science with a focus in AI. I’m passionate about helping students find their footing in programming and AI. Computing can feel overwhelming when foundational gaps make later topics much harder to understand, and my goal is to help students work through these gaps so they can approach problems with greater confidence.
I have 1.5 years of experience as an undergraduate teaching assistant for an introductory Computer Science course and was one of two undergraduate recipients of my university’s 2024-25 Department of Computer Science Teaching Award. In addition to teaching in a classroom, I worked one-on-one with students to answer conceptual questions, work through problems, prepare for exams, and debug programming assignments. My approach is to first understand what a student is struggling with rather than simply giving them an answer. I like to break problems down to identify the source of confusion and connect new ideas to familiar concepts. Depending on the topic, I use visual explanations, analogies, and code examples to help students understand the “why” behind a concept, and then connect it to “how” to implement it in code. I want students to leave not only knowing how to solve a particular problem, but also feeling more prepared to tackle the next one independently.
My areas of specialization are foundational Computer Science and programming (Java, Object-Oriented Programming, and Data Structures) and Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning and Deep Learning). Through my graduate program, I have hands-on experience implementing and training AI models from scratch with PyTorch. I am happy to work with students on core CS and AI concepts, programming and machine learning projects, or exam preparation. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a session--I’d be happy to learn more about what you’re working on and how I can help!
